POROG-8 - Iron Grunt

With this project, i tried to create a design of my own, mixing several of my favorite influences. This is part of a (very) long term project called Porog-8 (Or P8) depicting a desperate war against unfathmoable dark powers for survival on a dying world.
Those are the Iron Grunts, or "Spikes", they are the bulk of the Iron infantry and serve as low-ranking cannon fodder.

It was pretty tough nailing down the design. I wanted something more grotesque at first, and still do, but as i realized I needed their equipment to be modular, it became a bit hard to make exaggerated shapes without having problems with customisation. Thanks to Remy Mallard ( https://www.artstation.com/remy_mallard ) and his sketches I had more ideas to model. Overhaul it was very fun all around, but took wayyy too much time to make.
